# Expected outcomes

In the first stage we would like to publish three studies in English in distinguished international periodicals (e.g. Revue d’histoire des texts indexed in the SCOPUS database), each concerned with one of the base texts. The studies will provide new information about the textual transmission and medieval readership of each selected group of texts. While conducting this research, the team members will be continuously comparing their results and discussing their needs as far as the features of the experimental application is concerned. This will lead, in the second stage, to the further development of the experimental application for text comparison. The prototype with the three base texts will be available online for further community use. The code of the application will be made freely available on Github and thus anyone keen on improving it can use our research and the code as a starting point. We would also be open to further developing the application after the completion of this project, depending on its value for the future research. Finally, the team will produce a joint study in English detailing the methods and the process of creating the prototype of the online application and assessing its use and options for further development.

# In the end our outcomes will be:

  • Three studies in English published in distinguished and indexed international periodicals, each concerned with one of the group of texts, i.e. dream interpretation manuals, treatises on monastic possession and reflections on the eucharist
  • One joint study in English detailing the methods and process of creating the prototype of the application
  • The application code itself available online on Github

# Collaboration

In addition, the collaboration of the Charles University with the two partners, the Sorbonne (4EU partner) and the Chair of Medieval Latin at the University of Zurich (the strategic partner of the Charles University) will be substantially strengthened through the intensive research collaboration on this project. Finally, the three researchers will enhance their experience and skillsets as well as develop their teamwork competences. In the end, they will implement their results in teaching by participating in the seminar “Práce s rukopisy” (Work with manuscripts).
